"knight" ; Member of the Lion Association . The coat of arms assigned to Johannes Schaller of Strasbourg in the battle chapel in Sempach seems to be incorrectly assigned. The coat of arms shown there has a golden and red-tongued growing lion above in blue, three black rings below in gold. On the helmet with blue and gold covers the growing lion, which apparently can be attributed to Lüthold Schaffer. In a document from 1386, which was also sealed by a Johannes Schaler from Strasbourg, the seal is described as follows: “ With a helmet turned to the right with blankets and a monk's head as a helmet decoration, the hood of which protrudes far up, the whole enclosed by arches that loop in rings on the sides, in which six-pointed stars, on the bottom branches everywhere, everything surrounded by a crowned line, outline. † S '. DNI. IOhANIS. DCI. SCHOLER. MILITIS † “Since this document was issued in December 1386, it must even be doubted that a scarf was ever killed at the battle of Sempach. |

The Thurgau Chronicle calls him "Cuntz Star von Empstain", similar to Klingenberg's "Courat Stör v. Empshaim". Such a gender is not known, however, from this it can be concluded that this is a location and not a name. The mention of Melchior Russ is also confusing. He calls him "Stör von Sultz" like Conrad Justinger. The majority of chroniclers, however, call him Cuntz Stör. " from Appenstein " |
