List of castles in Lesser Armenia
The rule over Lesser Armenia and Cilicia essentially depended on the control of a number of castles and fortifications that controlled access to the fertile plain in the Taurus , Antitaurus and Amanos Mountains . They mostly go back to Byzantine or Roman fortifications, others, such as the Anazarba castle hill , were fortified in prehistoric or Hittite times.

- Gobidara / Kosidar, north of Sis , Rubenids from 1091
- Gökvelioğlu Kalesi at Yüreğir
- Gourmardias / Camardias near Seleukia ( Silifke )
- Gülek Kalesi above the Cilician Gate
- Hamus , seat of the Byzantine governor Andronikos
- Harunia , 1236 to the Teutonic Knights
- Hromkla (Rum Kale, Hromgla, Ranculat) on the Euphrates , seat of the Armenian Catholicos
- Kybistra Castle (Ereğli), seat of the Pantaleon (Mandale). Conquered under Thoros II
- Korykos with the associated island fortress, the girl's castle near Kızkalesi
- Lambron / Namrun-Hethumiden in the Taurus near the Cilician Gate
- Mamure Kalesi near Anamur , Roman foundation
- Norpert near Seleucia, 1210 to the Hospitallers
- Partzapert , northeast of Sis , Rubenid since Thoros II ,
- Sarventikar not far from the Amanos gate
- Tachikk'ar
- Til Hamdoun at Toprakkale
- Vahka , Göksu / Coxon in the Antitaurus north of Sis on the pass road to Adana , ancestral seat of the Rubenids from 1091
