List of lighthouses in Latvia
The list includes the lighthouses in Latvia and similar nautical facilities. They are on the Baltic Sea , the Irbenstrasse and the Riga Bay . The Irbenstrasse connects the bay with the Baltic Sea. Lighthouse is called bāka in Latvian .
Lighthouses
Lighthouses currently in operation or preserved as historical monuments are recorded from west to east. Many facilities do not correspond to the typical idea of lighthouses. In the Soviet era, one began with functional buildings, especially after strategic considerations. A large number of these facilities are no longer in operation and are often derelict. Electronic navigation has now dominated and therefore the performance of traditional lighthouses is increasingly limited. (As of August 2020)

- Remarks
- ↑ at the trade channel ( Latvian Tirdzniecības kanāls )
- ↑ closed, 20 m high with a gallery. A lantern was mounted on the tower below the gallery at a height of 13.5 m; it is no longer there.
- ↑ It was a former reconnaissance and navigation object of the Soviet Army . The ruin is now covered with a green net.
- ↑ The oldest working lighthouse in Latvia
-
↑ The lighthouse replaced the lightship "Ирбенский" (Irbenskij), which was lying at this position from 1962 to 1985
- The last Russian Lightship on the Baltic Sea. In: plavmayak.ru. Retrieved August 28, 2020 .
- ↑ It is unclear whether the sources refer to the old lighthouse or the replacement. The old lighthouse has not been in operation since the beginning of 1960 and has been replaced by a leading light line.
- ↑ The lighthouse, which has been closed since 1999, is over 5 km from the coast. The “Blue Mountain” on which it stands was already used by seafarers as a landmark .
- ↑ Out of order
- ↑ Ragaciems has a historic (in front of the beach) and a modern (red) lighthouse. The technical information relates to the new tower.
- ↑ The striking white church tower of the traditional fishermen's church, in conjunction with two beacons facing the river, marks the approach from the upper Düna. The top lamp is in the roof of the church tower.
- ↑ ( German lighthouse Dünamünde )
- ↑ Former beacon on the east pier of the mouth of the Dunes . It was in operation until 1998 and was replaced by a 7 m high metal tower. Now erected as a monument in the park
- ↑ Since 2015 only unfired navigation markings
- ↑ The lighthouse has not been in operation for 30 years and was rebuilt outside the port area in order to create storage facilities at its original location
- ↑ Northernmost lighthouse in Latvia
