The district of Nīca (Nīcas novads) is located in southwest Latvia in the historical Kurzeme region .

The district borders directly on the Baltic Sea . The south-western border is formed by Lake Pape . In the north lies the Libauer See .

The district consists of the municipality (pagasts) Otaņķi and the administrative center Nīca . 3858 inhabitants (2010) live in the Nīca district.
