The Dagda District (Dagdas novads) is located in the southeast of Latvia on the border with Belarus .

The sparsely populated area is rich in lakes, of which Lake Ež is the largest.

The district consists of ten municipalities (pagasts) Andrupene, Andzeļi, Asūne, Bērziņi, Dagda (Land), Ezernieki, Konstantinova, Ķepova, Svariņi, Šķaune and the administrative center Dagda . 9331 inhabitants (2010) live in the Dagda district.
