The district of Iecava (Iecavas novads) is located in the center of Latvia in the historical Zemgale region .

geography

The area lies south of Riga and is crossed by the Iecava River. The Jelgava - Jēkabpils railway runs here in a west-east direction.

population

The district consists of only one municipality (pagasts) with the administrative center in Iecava . In 2018 the Iecava district had 9048 inhabitants.
