The Krimulda District (Krimuldas novads) is located in northeastern Latvia in the historic Vidzeme region .

geography

The Gauja flows through the area . The Brasla forms part of the eastern border. The city of Sigulda is located south of the district .

population

On July 1, 2014, there were 5,537 inhabitants in the Krimulda district. It consists of the two parishes (pagasts) Lēdurga with 1512 inhabitants and Krimulda with 4025 inhabitants. The administrative center is in Ragana .

Attractions

The ruins of Krimulda Castle rise above the right bank of the Gauja.
