The Jaunpiebalga District (Jaunpiebalgas novads) is located in northeastern Latvia in the historic Vidzeme landscape .

geography

The rural area lies on the upper reaches of the Gauja . A railway line from Amata to Gulbene runs in a west-east direction.

population

The district consists of the two municipalities (pagasts) Zosēni and the administrative center Jaunpiebalga . 2671 inhabitants (2010) live in the Jaunpiebalga district.
