The Grobiņa District (Grobiņas novads) is located in western Latvia in the historical Kurzeme region .

To the west of the district lies the city of Liepāja . The area is dominated by agriculture, with the lowlands being drained by canal systems.

The district consists of the five parishes (pagasts) Bārta, Gavieze, Grobiņa (Land) and Medze. The administrative center is in the city of Grobiņa . 10220 inhabitants (2010) live in the Grobiņa district.
