The District Durbe (Durbes novads) is located in western Latvia in the historic landscape Kurzeme .
geography
The area is east of Liepāja and is rural. The largest body of water is Lake Durbe. The Riga- Liepāja railway line runs through the district in a west-east direction.
population
The district consists of the four parishes (pagasts) Dunalka, Durbe (country), Tadaiķi, Vecpils and Durbe (city). There is also the administrative center in Lie isti village . 3401 inhabitants (2010) live in the Durbe district.
