The District Brocēni (Brocēnu novads) is located in western Latvia in the historic landscape Kurzeme .
geography
The district is east of the city of Saldus . On Ciecere Lake and Brocēni limestone is mined. The railway line from Riga to Liepāja runs in a west-east direction through the district.
population
The district consists of the four municipalities (pagasts) Blīdene, Ciecere, Gaiķi, Remte and the administrative center Brocēni . 6245 inhabitants live in the Brocēni district (2018).
