The Mevlânâ Mosque of Konya
Mevlana mosques owe their names to the Islamic mystic "Mevlana Jalal ad-Din ar-Rumi ", who is considered the founder of the Mevlevi - order of dervishes . He was called Maulana (title, Persian / Arabic "our lord / master") or (in Turkish pronunciation) Mevlânâ by his followers and the dervishes .
The name, "Teacher's Mosque" or "Master's Mosque" does not necessarily have to refer to a Sufist mosque.
