The theater (also Alexandria Opera House or Saïd Darwich Theater ) in Alexandria was built from 1918 to 1921 in the style of eclecticism based on designs by the French architect Georges Parcq . It is now called the Theater Mohamed Aly , originally the theater was named after Saïd Darwich .

The Khedivial Opera House , also known as the “Royal Opera”, opened on November 1, 1869 in Cairo. It was built by order of Ismail Pasha , the Khedive ( viceroy ) of the Ottoman province of Egypt , to celebrate the Suez Canal , which opened in the same year . The first work to be performed was Rigoletto by Giuseppe Verdi . In the early morning hours of October 28, 1971, the building was completely destroyed by fire. In 1988, the Cairo Opera House opened a new opera house.
The Théâtre National Algérien Mahieddine Bachtarzi , formerly known as the Algiers Opera House , is a historic building in Algiers. It was designed by the architects Charles Frédéric Chassériau and Justin Ponsard in the baroque revival style and built from 1850 to 1853. After it caught fire in 1883, it was rebuilt.
