List of paper museums
A paper museum shows the artisanal and industrial paper production and paper processing.
Paper museums are equipped differently. What they all have in common is the visual processing of the history of paper from its beginnings to the present. Most of them also show how paper is made from trees to printing and writing paper. In some museums, visitors can make paper themselves after having prepared a mash from waste paper . It is also possible to incorporate individual watermarks in this process.
In addition to the artisanal paper production, many museums also refer to industrial paper production and printing technology . In particular, the art of book printing is mostly discussed in detail. Here, too, there are presses and letters in some museums that visitors can use to print their own book pages.
In connection with paper production, the individual museums sometimes go into the history of writing and show written paper documents from several centuries. Adults and children can often design a piece of writing with ink, Indian ink and pen following instructions.
