The corporation Liteksas is a textile company in Lithuania , located in Kaunas . It processes wool and produces various wool products.

history

In 1927 the "Liteksas" company was established. In Soviet Lithuania , it consisted of factories such as Kauno verpimo fabrikas , Kauno apdailos fabrikas , Kauno audimo fabrikas , Kapsuko audimo fabrikas " Šešupė ", and Kalvarijos audimo fabrikas "Orija" . In 1970 gamybinis susivienijimas "Liteksas" was established. In 1979 the company had a turnover of 106.9 million rubles and had 2,400 employees.

The company was later privatized. In 2000 it was bought by Marzotto Group ( Italy ). The group of companies founded UAB “Lietlinen” (linen yarn production) in Lithuania. In 2004 the company achieved sales of 57.41 million litas (16.62 million euros ) or 11.6% more than in 2003 and a profit of 3.82 million litas (1 million euros). In 2005 UAB “Lietvilna” was established after the reorganization of “Marzotto SpA”. “Lietvilna” is managed by “FILI VIVI” (Italy). AB Liteksas produces carpets , blankets and shawls from natural fibers ( lambswool , cashmere , alpaca and wool of young camels ).
