Little Caesar is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles .

history

The band was founded in 1987 by singer Ron Young and was named after the fast-food chain Little Caesars . The first line-up was completed by guitarists Loren Molinaire and Apache, bassist Fidel Paniagua and drummer Tom Morris. After contributing to the metal blade sampler Street Survivors , the band released the EP Name Your Poison in 1989 . Little Caesar were then signed by Geffen Records .

Under the guidance of producer Bob Rock , who previously worked with The Cult and Mötley Crüe , the band recorded their first album. The self-titled work was published in 1990 and ranked 478 in a list of the 500 best albums of all time compiled by the German magazine Rock Hard . Since the record company did little promotion, the commercial success was not in spite of good reviews. Some US radio stations even went so far as to take Little Caesar's songs off their programs when those responsible saw the band's promotional photos.

In 1991 the guitarist Apache got out and was replaced by Earl Slick . Singer Ron Young played a small role in the science fiction film Terminator 2 - Judgment Day . He played a biker who was thrown through a closed window by the main actor Arnold Schwarzenegger . A year later, the second studio album Influence , which was produced by Howard Benson , was released. Since the album was only selling slowly, the band lost their contract with Geffen and broke up in early 1993.

The band reformed in 2001 and played individual concerts before a new studio album, Redemption , was released in 2009 . It was also the debut for guitarist Joey Brasler. The album American Dream was released three years later . Brasler left the band due to recurring scheduling problems in January 2014. He was replaced by Joey Malone.

After another line-up, in which guitarist Alex Kane was replaced by Mark Tremalgia in 2017, the band recorded the album Eight , which was released on March 16, 2018.
