Lizzy Scharnofske
Lizzy Scharnofske (born November 22, 1981 in Gestorf , jumping as Larissa Scharnofske ) is a German jazz and fusion musician ( drums , percussion , vocals ) and composer .
Live and act
Scharnofske grew up in a family of musicians near Hanover and from the age of 14 played drums in various bands. From 2001 she studied jazz drums at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam , where she also played in the traditional women's jazz band Alice in Dixieland . She then continued her bachelor's degree at the Conservatoire National de la Danse et de la Musique de Paris , completing it in 2005.
In addition to jazz, she also deals with electro-acoustic music (including in a duo with saxophonist Edith Steyer ) and the production of her own compositions. Since her graduation she has worked in various projects, such as in the formation Girl Talk , the Ladies Swing Trio (with Inca Hellmich and Adi Sharon), in the band Les Belles du Swing and in the drum-and-bass band Grambowski . Since the mid-2000s she has been the drummer in the leader-free Jazztrio Center with Andreas Edelmann b and Eike Wulfmeier p, whereby Edelman was replaced by Marcel Krömker on the double bass in 2015. In Unit Records they played their 2017 released album No. 3 a.
Currently (2016) she works with the formations Lan , Quancing Deen , The Cox , RotOrange (duo percussion-piano), IAMX ; She is also a drummer in musical productions by the Landgraf Concert Directorate. Other formations in which she is currently active are the Anja Ritterbusch Quartet and Col.Decker , an electro-techno dance band from Berlin, founded with her brother Niko Scharnofske. She is also a studio drummer in various studios for film and commercial music as well as for other artists. For her solo project Lizzy , she designed electrical performances with a portable drum kit that she developed herself.
Prizes and awards
During her training, Scharnofske won awards and advancement awards in both jazz and classical music ( youth jazz , winning jazz, jazzin, chamber music advancement award). In 2012 she received the Soloist Prize of the New German Jazz Prize , the 2nd place went to her Jazz Trio Center , also at the New German Jazz Prize 2012.
