Lyachiwzi ( Ukrainian Ляхівці ; Russian Ляховцы Lyachowzy , Slovak Ľachovce , Hungarian Lehóc ) is a village in Uzhhorod district in the Zakarpattia Oblast in western Ukraine with about 400 inhabitants.
The village is located on the banks of the Wjela ( В'єла ) in the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains and, together with 4 other villages, belongs to the district council of Chudljowo .
history
In 1407 the village was mentioned for the first time as Lengenfalua . Until 1919 the village belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire or Hungary , then as part of the Carpathian-Ukraine to Czechoslovakia . With the annexation of Carpathian Ukraine, it came back to Hungary in 1938–1945. From 1945 Lyachiwzi was part of the Ukrainian SSR within the Soviet Union . Since its disintegration in 1991, the village has been part of the independent Ukraine.
