Lyubow Igorewna Nikitina ( Russian Любовь Игоревна Никитина ; born January 21, 1999 in Yaroslavl ) is a Russian freestyle skier . She starts in the discipline Aerials (jumping). Her brother Stanislaw Nikitin does the same sport.

Career

Nikitina started for the first time in December 2013 in Ruka in the European Cup. In March 2014 she won a European Cup competition for the first time in Airolo and reached third place in the Aerials discipline. She won the bronze medal at the 2014 Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco . On December 20, 2014, she made her debut in Beijing in the World Cup , finishing in 16th and 10th place. At the 2015 World Championships on Kreischberg , she was seventh. In March 2015 she started again in the European Cup and came twice in second and twice in first place. She finished the season in 16th place in the Aerials World Cup and in first place in the Aerials European Cup.

Nikitina won the bronze medal at the 2016 Junior World Championships in Minsk . After finishing second in the European Cup in Ruka at the beginning of the 2016/17 season, she came on the podium for the first time in the World Cup on December 17, 2016 with third place in Beida Lake . This was followed by three top 10 placements in the World Cup and fifth in the Aerials World Cup at the end of the season. In March she won the European Cup in Chiesa in Valmalenco and came twelfth at the 2017 World Championships in the Sierra Nevada . At the beginning of April 2017 she won the gold medal at the Junior World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco.

Nikitina took part in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang , where she finished seventh. She won the gold medal at the 2018 Junior World Championships in Minsk . The following year she won silver in the individual and bronze in the first team competition at the World Championships in Park City and silver in the 2019 Winter Universiade in Krasnoyarsk .
