Lyudmila Evgenevna Ulitskaya
Lyudmila Evgenevna Ulitskaja ( Russian Людмила Евгеньевна Улицкая , scientific transliteration Lyudmila Evgen'evna Ulickaja , in Germany also in the spelling Ulitzkaja ; born February 21, 1943 in Dawlekanowo , Bashkir and the Jewish writer, the modern Russian writer ) is a Russian writer Brings storytelling together.
Ulitskaya is involved in the opposition to President Putin.
Life
From late 1943 onwards, Lyudmila Ulitskaja grew up in a Jewish family in Moscow. She completed a degree in biology at Lomonosov University with a degree in genetics and worked as a geneticist at the Academy Institute in Moscow from 1967, but was dismissed because of the illegal copying and distribution of samizdat literature. She then worked for two years at the Jewish Chamber Music Theater as a literary consultant before she was able to establish herself as a freelance writer and publicist. In 1983 her first volume of stories was published by the State Children's Book Publishing House. With the publication of Sonetschka (1992) Lyudmila Ulitskaja was discovered as a prose author; In the same year her first story was published in Germany, where her work was made known to a wider audience , especially in television programs by Elke Heidenreich . Lyudmila Ulitskaja's books have been translated into 17 languages. She lives and works in Moscow .
In 2012 she was involved in the protests against President Putin . In 2014 she lamented the "unprecedented manipulation" of the public by propaganda , the lies of which broke all records. On April 28, 2016, she was the victim of a Seljonka attack carried out by members of the “National Liberation Movement” . Ulitzkaja said that these "poor, unfortunate and manipulated idiots" were in the service of the Kremlin.

In her stories, everyday heroes are closely linked by threads of fate. They live in a mess of passion and cruelty of everyday life and they bury themselves in their lives. The threads of fate unravel as the stories are parsed back and forth. In literary studies, attempts are made to assign Ulitskaja's works to a genre , which the author comments with: "Shall they stop!"
Ulitskaja is recognized as an incorruptible author. It brings together the Russian and Jewish storytelling traditions with modern storytelling in a haunting manner, as stated in the reason for the award of the Austrian State Prize for European Literature , which is awarded annually for the entire literary work of a European author.
In her novel Daniel Stein (2010) Ulizkaja implemented the historical model of the life of Oswald Rufeisen in the form of a literary collage . In the foreword Ulitskaya writes: “Numerous documents are quoted in the book, some of which I made up. It was more important to me to follow literary truthfulness than historical truth. "
