geography
The municipality extends about 90 kilometers along the Ljusnan River from north to south, and from the Ljusnan River about 20 kilometers to the east and 80 kilometers to the west. The municipality of Ljusdal lies in the foothills of the Scandinavian Mountains and is occupied by a forest-covered hill country. The (formerly smallest) national park in Sweden, the Hamra National Park, is also located in the municipality .
