The Hamra National Park is located in the town of Ljusdal in the Orsa Finnmark . With its size of only 28 hectares, it was the smallest national park in Sweden , which has now been expanded to 1383 hectares. It is located in the middle of an intensively cultivated area and forms a small untouched oasis. The park is located on two flat moraine hills by the small lake Näckrostjärnen. There is a circular path through the park, which is laid on wooden planks in the more swampy sections.

Flora and fauna

Original coniferous forest stretches across almost the entire area of the park . The oldest spruce trees in the stand are up to 300 years old and are partly covered by thick lichen growth. Over 450 different species of insects and beetles have been found in the park .

Access

From the national road 81 between Orsa and Sveg there is a cul-de-sac from Fågelsjö towards the park. At the entrance to the park there is a parking lot with a small shelter and information boards.

The park is about 10 kilometers away from the Fågelsjö and Tandsjöborg stops of the Inland Railway .
