The Swedish National Park Vadvetjåkka is located west of Lake Torneträsk in northern Lapland on the border with Norway. It covers an area of 2,630 hectares and was established in 1920.

The aim of the facility was to preserve a high northern mountain landscape in its natural state. The park is characterized by a ridge with birch forests , moors , glaciers , bodies of water and bare rocks. In addition to the mountain range, the north-south oriented valleys and the foothills are part of the park. As the national park is not far from the Atlantic Ocean , precipitation is more frequent here than in other Swedish mountain landscapes.

Vadvetjåkka is difficult to access. There is a hiking trail from Pålnoviken Bay in Torneträsk (a simple hut there). There are public boat tours to this bay from Abisko and Björkliden . Another 12 km long hiking trail (not shown on the Fjällkarta) leads from Låktajåkka railway station (Kiruna – Narvik railway line) to the national park. A path marked on the Fjällkarta BD 06 starts at Kopparasen on the E10 road west of Abisko and Björkliden.

On recent Swedish maps, the name of the park is given in the native Sami language : Vátvécohkka .
