The Mahonia Lomariifolia ( Mahonia lomariifolia ) is a plant from the family of Barberry (Berberidaceae). It is originally from Myanmar and West China . The name refers to a certain similarity of the leaves of this species with the leaves of rib ferns (genus Blechnum , synonym Lomaria , with the common rib fern ( Blechnum spicant ) as the only species in Europe); accordingly, lomari leaved means rib fern leaved .
description
The Lomaria-leaved Oregon grape is an evergreen shrub up to 4 meters high and 3 meters wide . It has many stems, the branches, which are rarely branched, are thick and upright. The leaves sit at the end of bamboo-like shoots and can be up to 60 centimeters long; they consist of 9 to 41 leaflets, which are regularly arranged in pairs. When it shoots, the leaves are bronze-colored and turn dark green on top over time.
