The Lombach (also Äschlisbach ) is an approximately 7 km long right tributary of the Ilfis in the Swiss canton of Lucerne . In contrast to most of the rivers in the Entlebuch, it does not drain via the Kleine Emme , but rather the “big” Emme into the Aare .
geography
course
The Lombach arises at 1093 m above sea level. M. below the Turner ( 1215 m above sea level ) and above Escholzmatt , where two 150 meter long spring streams flow together, each of which has its source in two springs. It initially flows in a south-westerly direction through the narrow, undeveloped and densely forested Lombachtal valley in the upper part , which is therefore also called Lombachängi (Lombachenge) in the uppermost section . At the Lombachgrebli farm , the valley widens and it now flows through agricultural area, which is surrounded by wooded hills. The stream turns in an arc to the east and passes the courtyards Hinter- and Mittellombach as well as Lombach and Grabenhof before it reaches Escholzmatt.
Here it turns to the southwest and flows through the southern part of the village. At Längried , shortly after Escholzmatt, it takes up the Alpbach and is now also called Äschlisbach. From here the creek is followed by the railway line and Hauptstrasse 10 . It flows here mostly surrounded by fields and only in a few places is a forest edge. After the Lombach has passed several courtyards, it flows into Wiggen at 786 m above sea level. M. from the right into the Ilfis.
Catchment area
The Lombach drains an area of 13.6 square kilometers in the upper Entlebuch. This is made up of 52.7% agricultural area, 45.4% near-natural area and forest area and 1.9% built-up area. The highest point of the catchment area is 1736 m above sea level. M. and is located on a ridge south of the Beichlen ( 1769 m above sea level ). The average altitude is 1035 m above sea level. M.
