Eleonore Lipschitz

Eleonore "Lore" Lipschitz (born August 1, 1922 in Berlin-Lichtenberg ; † May 28, 1981 in Berlin ), née Krüger, was a German politician ( SPD ).

Eleonore Krüger was the daughter of a businessman and attended high school . She graduated from high school in 1941 and was then drafted into the Reich Labor Service (RAD). Due to illness, she was released there in 1943 and was able to begin studying at the Berlin Business School . But in 1944 she was again drafted into the RAD.

After the Second World War , Eleonore Krüger married Joachim Lipschitz in May 1945 , who had to hide in her parents' house as a “ half-Jew ” during the war . Eleonore Lipschitz studied economics at the Free University of Berlin from 1948 and became a lecturer at the Social Pedagogical Institute Berlin (SPI) of the Workers' Welfare Association (AWO) in 1954 . In March 1956 she was director of the SPI, the same year she graduated as Dr. rer. pole.

In the Berlin election in 1963 , Lipschitz was elected to the Berlin House of Representatives. In 1964 she succeeded Ida Wolff as the state chairwoman of the Berlin workers' welfare organization. In the Federal Assembly she was able to take part in the election of the Federal President in 1969 . In January 1970 she became government director at the Senator for Labor and Social Affairs , so she resigned from parliament. Her successor in the House of Representatives was then Paul Ibscher (1910–1983).

Lipschitz became patroness of the Women's International Zionist Organization (WIZO) in 1970 .
