Lorenz Deutsch (born July 25, 1969 in Cologne ) is a German politician ( FDP ). On October 11, 2017, he moved into the state parliament of North Rhine-Westphalia as a successor .

education and profession

Lorenz Deutsch studied German studies , philosophy and political science at the University of Cologne , where he worked from 1998 to 2011 as an assistant at the Institute for German Language and Literature. Since 2011 he has been a lecturer in Ancient German Studies at the University of Düsseldorf .

Political career

Lorenz Deutsch became a member of the FDP in 1997. Since 2011 he has been a member of the district board of the Cologne FDP, since 2013 he has been its deputy chairman. On November 19, 2017, he was elected as the successor to Yvonne Gebauer as district chairman of the FDP Cologne.

He has been an expert resident in the culture committee of the City of Cologne since 2004. From 2009 to 2014 he was a member of the Cologne City Center District Council. In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia on May 14, 2017, he ran for the FDP in constituency 13 - Cologne I (district of Rodenkirchen and the districts of Old Town / South and Neustadt / South from the city center).
