Career

Burnet came from the youth of AVV Zeeburgia from his hometown Amsterdam at the age of 13 to AFC Ajax . As a full- back on the left, he was noticed by the talent scouts of the top club. At Ajax, the 1.70-meter-tall defender went through the other youth teams and has already been appointed to youth national teams several times. With youth coach Frank de Boer he got the opportunity to develop himself further in the A-youth; in the 2010/11 season he was appointed to the second team Jong Ajax , where he competed with Nicolai Boilesen for the position of left-back. In his 22 appearances for Jong Ajax he scored two goals. While Boilesen even during the 2010/11 season in the squad of the Eredivisie was taken -Mannschaft Ajax, moved Burnet - whose contract expired at the end of the season - the 2011-12 season for FC Groningen . Here he made his debut on the first day of the game in the top division and also took the position of Fredrik Stenman on the left wing in the next few games . On March 23, 2012, his first Eredivisie goal for FCG's 1-0 winning goal at Rotterdam's SBV Excelsior ended a series of four defeats in a row. The Groninger finished 14th in the table at the end of the season.
