Lorenzo Maas (born January 21, 1992 in Eeklo , Belgium ) is a German - Belgian ice hockey player who has been playing at Herner EV in the Oberliga West since 2014 . His brother Kevin also played internationally for Belgium.

Career

Lorenzo Maas, who was born in Belgium but also has German citizenship, first played for the U16 team of the Cologne EC in the student league. In 2007 he moved to the U18 Young Roosters , with whom he became German Junior Champion in 2008. He then played with the team from Iserlohn in the German junior league , in which he was still active after moving to Krefeld EV in 2009. Since 2011 he was mainly used in the second men's team of Krefeld in the Oberliga West . In 2013 he moved to league competitor Königsborner JEC and a year later to Herner EV , for which he has played since then.

International

For Belgium, Maas took part in the junior division of the U-18 World Championships in 2008 , 2009 and 2010 and the U-20 World Championships in 2011 and 2012 in Division II. At the U-18 World Cup in 2010 and the U-20 World Cup in 2012, he was recognized as the best player on his team.

For the men's national team , Maas took part in the World Championships in Division II in 2012 , 2013 and 2014 , with promotion from Group II to Group II in 2012.
