Lothar Freutel (born February 21, 1894 in Rosenberg , † February 18, 1944 in Colomo , northwestern Russia ) was a German major general in World War II .

Life

First World War

On August 10, 1914, Freutel joined the 1st West Prussian Field Artillery Regiment No. 35 as a war volunteer . In September 1914 he transferred to the Reserve Field Artillery Regiment No. 35 . After attending the field war school in Pruzana , Freutel was promoted to lieutenant in the reserve on March 21, 1916 and on November 14, 1916 to adjutant of the III. Department appointed. Interwar period

After the end of the war and the demobilization of his regiment, Freutel was used as an orderly officer in the 41st Field Artillery Brigade from March 3, 1919 . Second World War

As part of the general mobilization, Freutel was appointed commander of the 22nd Artillery Replacement Regiment of Division 170 on August 26, 1939, which was not used in the attack on Poland . On September 29, 1939 Freutel gave command of the regiment to Colonel Rudolf Bächer and was appointed commander of the artillery regiment z. b. V. appointed in 707.
