Lothar Kunz

Lothar Kunz (born December 1, 1892 in Bärn , Moravia ; † February 19, 1972 in Schwalbach am Taunus ) was a German politician ( BdL , SdP , NSDAP , later GB / BHE ).

Life and work

After graduating from elementary school, Kunz attended middle school for four years. He then switched to the cadet school, also attended it for four years and became an active officer in the Danube Monarchy in 1912 . From 1914 to 1918 he took part in the First World War as a soldier , most recently as a lieutenant and company commander. He was wounded during the war. At the end of the war he was taken prisoner by Russia, from which he was able to escape.

Kunz studied at the Agricultural University in Tetschen-Liebwerd in 1919/20 . During the Weimar Republic , he worked as a party secretary. Since 1938 he was employed by the Reichsnährstand . He also worked as the head of the Bärn district farming community .

After the end of the Second World War , Kunz was arrested in July 1945, initially interned in a camp and then used as a forced laborer in the Moravia works in Mariental near Olomouc . In March 1946 he was expelled from Czechoslovakia . He then moved to Hesse as a displaced person . He later worked as a managing director at the Treuhandstelle Süd of Nassauische Siedlungsgesellschaft mbH in Frankfurt am Main .

Political party

In the 1920s, Kunz joined the Federation of Farmers in Czechoslovakia (BdL), a Sudeten German farmers' party. From 1921 he was BdL district manager North Moravia-Silesia and in 1926 BdL regional manager Moravia-Silesia. After the annexation of the Sudeten area by the German Reich in 1938, the BdL was incorporated into the Sudeten German Party (SdP) headed by Konrad Henlein , which in turn later became part of the NSDAP .

After moving to West Germany , Kunz co-founded the GB / BHE in Hesse. In 1951 he was elected regional chairman of the party.

MP

Kunz was a member of the Czechoslovak National Assembly from 1935 to 1938.

He was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957. He entered parliament through the state list of Hesse.
