Louis Friedrich Christian Curtze

Louis (also Ludwig) Friedrich Christian Curtze (born January 14, 1807 in Korbach ; † April 1, 1870 ibid) was a German Protestant clergyman, teacher and local researcher.

Life

Louis Friedrich Christian Curtze (also Louis Curtze) was born on January 14, 1807 as the son of Christian Ludwig Curtze (at the time vice principal of the Korbach grammar school Alte Landesschule ) and twin brother of Karl Curtze († September 5, 1855 in Sayn ). From 1813 to 1815 and from 1818 to 1825 he attended the Alte Landesschule , the Korbach grammar school. In addition, he received private lessons from his father. From 1815 he was the administrator of the Berndorf rectory . From Easter 1825 he studied theology in Göttingen and passed his final exam in the spring of 1827. He then studied school science and from 1828 worked as a teacher at the old state school in Korbach. In the period from 1832 to 1842 he was also a deacon in Korbach and at the same time pastor of Lengefeld and Lelbach . From 1854 until his retirement on October 9, 1861, he was director of the Alte Landesschule Korbach high school .

His daughter Maria Elisabeth Friederike Sabine married Karl Friedrich Georg Waldschmidt, who became a professor and vice-principal at the Korbach high school. The couple's sons, Max Waldschmidt and Oswald Waldschmidt , became members of the Waldeck state parliament.
