Louis Felix Romand (born May 16, 1934 in Les Rousses , Jura department , † June 19, 2000 in Morez , Jura department) was a French cross-country skier and biathlete . He took part in the 1968 Winter Olympics.

Like his brother Paul Romand, Louis Romand was employed by the French customs administration and started for their Le Ski Club des Douanes in Morez , previously he was a member of the Skieurs Rousselands ski club . Together with Victor Arbez and his brother Paul, he won the traditional cross-country skiing competition La coupe Gérard Montefiore in 1958 and 1959 for a trophy originally created by Paul Landowski . In addition to cross-country skiing, he also began the still young sport of biathlon and was included in the French national team. For the first time Romand took part in biathlon world championships in the 1961/1962 season. In the individual competition he reached 32nd place among forty starters. The following year he was 38. In 1964 at the Olympic Games , he was not part of the French team. But he finished 32nd again at the 1965 World Cup . At the 1966 World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen , Romand came to his only relay at world championships. In this race, which was part of the official program for the first time, he started as a starting runner. With Daniel Claudon , Gilbert Mercier and Paul Romand as final runners, the French came in seventh, and he finished the individual in 29th. His best world championship result was his last appearance at the world championships in 1967 , when he was the best Frenchman in 21st place. Until 1966 he was always nominated together with his brother, but was always inferior to this. He came closest to him at the 1966 World Championships, when Paul was only three places better than Louis. In 1968 Romand started at the Olympic Games in Grenoble in the individual over 20 km. He placed right in front of his teammate Guy Duraffourg in 57th and was third from bottom in the competition. Both were then not used in the following relay race, for Romand it was at the same time the farewell to the international stage.
