Louis Vezant

Louis "Loulou" Vezant (born January 25, 1931 in Paris , † January 18, 2015 in Paray-le-Monial ) was a French jazz musician ( trumpet ).

Vezant was the son of the professional trumpeter Louis Vezant. He first learned piano with Raoul Gola, then trumpet, especially with Raymond Sabarich, and in 1947 played with Hubert Rostaing at a Jam Session, which made recordings for the Swing label (“Chelsea Bridge”). With the mediation of his father, he was able to find Aebeit in the great variety and jazz orchestras from 1948, u. a. at the Moulin Rouge and the Casino de Paris . From the 1950s he worked with Benny Bennet (1953, 1958), Alix Combelle (1954), Noël Chiboust , Roger Fisbach , Quincy Jones (1959), and with Caterina Valente , Sammy Davis, Jr. , Jean-Claude Pelletier , Lionel Hampton / Dexter Gordon and Ivan Jullien .

In the 1960s Vezant was a member of the Boulou Ferré orchestra , in later years he played with Sonny Gray ( In Concert at the II Festival Internacional de Barcelona 1967 ), Bill Coleman , Jean-Claude Naude , Bob Quibel , Aimé Barelli , Claude Bolling et le Showbiz Band, François Rauber and with Gérard Badini Super Swing Machine.
