Luca Ruch

Luca Ruch (born May 31, 1989 ) is a former Swiss model . He was Mister Switzerland of 2011.

Life

Ruch is of Swiss- Italian origin. His Swiss father is a tax inspector; his Italian mother works in a physiotherapy practice . Ruch's parents have been separated for several years. Ruch has an older sister, Catia. Ruch is a trained banker . Since 2010 he has been studying economics and management at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences in Winterthur . After being elected Mister Switzerland, Ruch temporarily dropped out of his studies; he intended to resume his studies in September 2012.

Ruch lives (as of 2011) with his mother and sister in Frauenfeld in the canton of Thurgau . Since 2009 he has been in a relationship with the psychology student and the photo model Daniela Niederer.

Ruch has been playing football privately for several years at the Swiss football club FC Frauenfeld , since 2007 in the Fanion team , in the first team.

Mister Switzerland

Ruch was elected Mister Switzerland 2011 on April 2, 2011 in the Bodensee-Arena in Kreuzlingen . He succeeds Jan Bühlmann . He prevailed against ten other candidates in the competition. After making a bet with friends, Ruch decided to take part in the Mister Switzerland competition at relatively short notice.

After his election, Ruch received advertising contracts as a model and various sponsorship contracts. In the first nine weeks of his tenure, Ruch earned over 150,000 Swiss francs ; a result that had not been achieved before by any other Mister Switzerland winner. Shortly after being elected Mister Switzerland, he took photos for the ForMEn collection of the Swiss jewelry company Rhomberg . In 2011 , Ruch and Niederer stood together in front of the camera for the Swiss bag label 0714 .

In June 2011, Ruchs' participation in a hike on the Way of St. James from Schwyz to Einsiedeln made headlines ; Ruch had been booked as an advertising medium by a Swiss health insurance company. Ruch, baptized and confirmed Protestant Reformed , had previously stated in several interviews that religion was of no importance to him.
