Career

Andersen began his career as a football player in his hometown at the local training and amateur club Aalborg Freja . From the club, which was founded in 1912 and now plays in the lower leagues of Danish football, he moved to Aalborg BK , where he went through all youth leagues and was also brought into the Danish youth selections during this time. As a U-19 player, the mostly offensive midfielder was brought into the professional team in the Danish Super League by coach Kent Nielsen in 2011 . The former player and Lynge Jakobsen , who has been sporting director at AaB since 1996, said that Andersen was the best player since Jesper Grønkjær to make his way from the AaB's junior ranks to professional football. Andersen made his professional football debut on March 5, 2011, when he came on for Aalborg in the league game against Silkeborg IF in the 89th minute for Mathias Wichmann . With his commitment he was the youngest Aalborg player since 1922 and the second youngest Superliga debutant since Kenneth Zohoré ( FC Copenhagen ). He was also the youngest Aalborg debutant since Thomas Gaardsøe in 1997. Although he was still in the squad of the club's U-19 team, he was still used by the professionals. By the end of the season he made a total of eleven professional league appearances, each of which he completed as a substitute player. During his breakthrough in the professional team, his current contract with Aalborg BK was extended for another two years until 2013. With the team he finished tenth in the final ranking of the 2010/11 season ; it just reached relegation.

For the 2012/13 season Andersen moved to the Dutch record champions Ajax Amsterdam . On December 8, 2012, he made his debut in the Eredivisie . In the 2-0 home win over FC Groningen , he came on in the 79th minute for Danny Hoesen .

Appearances in the Danish youth teams

Andersen began his career in the Danish national team during his time in the youth division of the AaB, where he first appeared in 2009 for the Denmark U-16s. For the U-16 team, he played a total of seven games and scored a goal in a friendly against the Irish U-16 team. At the beginning of August 2010 he was used for the first time in the U-17 national team for the Internordian tournament. After successfully qualifying for the U-17 European Championship in 2011 , in which he played five games, he played in three of the four Danish matches at the finals and was eliminated with the team in the semifinals against the German offspring. By reaching the European Championship semi-finals, the Danish U-17 team was qualified for the U-17 World Cup in Mexico. Andersen was also part of coach Thomas Frank's squad , but only made two appearances in the defeats against Brazil (0: 3) and Ivory Coast (2: 4) until he was eliminated in the preliminary round. Andersen played a total of 21 games for Denmark's U-17s and scored two goals. After appointments to the U-18 and U-19 of the Danish federation, Andersen made his debut for Denmark's U-21s in September 2012 .
