Lucelle (German: Lützel ) is a suburb of the Swiss municipality of Pleigne ( Canton Jura ). It is located on a dammed lake of the Lützel , right on the border with France .
The origins of the hamlet go back to settlement activities of the former, bilingual Cistercian abbey of Lützel , which is in the immediate vicinity, but on the other side of the border, in the French neighboring town of Lucelle .
The hamlet is located in the southern part of the Lützel monastery territory, which is divided by state borders. This southern part belonged to the Principality of Basel and came to Switzerland in 1815. (The northern part, with the main buildings of the monastery, has belonged to France since 1648.) Subsequently, this territory was distributed to the French-speaking communities of Pleigne, Charmoille JU and Bourrignon , the area of the hamlet came to Pleigne.
