Luciano Beretta

Luciano Beretta (born January 1, 1928 in Milan , † January 11, 1994 in Caprino Veronese ) was an Italian songwriter .

Career

He began to gain experience as a dancer at an early age until he started working as a songwriter and consultant for Adriano Celentano's record label Clan Celentano . He was also active as an actor, painter, poet, singer and choreographer. Between 1959 and the 1970s he wrote for Celentano, mostly together with the singer himself and Miki Del Prete , some hits and classics of the Italian song, such as Il ragazzo della Via Gluck , La coppia più bella del mondo , Chi non lavora non fa l'amore or Una carezza in un pugno . Beretta tried to stand out in terms of content from the broad mass of song texts of its time. In addition to Celentano, he worked with Domenico Modugno , Orietta Berti , Mina , Milva , Caterina Caselli , Ornella Vanoni and I Camaleonti , most recently with the singer Elide Suligoj . He has also translated texts by Charles Aznavour , Édith Piaf and Gilbert Bécaud into Italian.

In the Via Garigliano in Milan today commemorated by a plaque at Beretta.
