Luciano Pedullà (born August 3, 1957 in Novara , Italy ) is an Italian volleyball coach . From February to October 2015 he was the national coach of the German women's volleyball team .

Career

Luciano Pedullà studied sports science and has been a successful coach for various Italian volleyball teams since 1992. With Pedullà as coach, the Italian national junior team won the title at the European Championship in 2004 and finished fourth at the World Cup in 2005. In 2005 he was also the assistant coach of the Italian women's national team and achieved second place with the team at the Grand Prix and the European Championships . For several years he was the coach of Asystel Volley Novara, which under his leadership won the European CEV Cup in 2009 . Since 2013 he has coached the Italian Serie A1 women's team Igor Agil Volley Novara , with whom he won the Italian Cup in 2015.

On February 26, 2015, the DVV appointed Luciano Pedullà to succeed Giovanni Guidetti as the national coach of the German women's volleyball team . At the European Games in Baku he reached the quarterfinals with the team, which were lost 3-2 to Poland . In the World Grand Prix , the DVV team was seventh in the table and missed the finals of the six best teams. The German team then reached the quarter-finals at the European Championships , but lost there in the tie-break against Turkey and missed a medal. On October 30th, the DVV announced that he was separating from Pedullà.

Private

Pedullà is married and has one son. He lives with his family in Novara, northern Italy .
