Lucio Andrice Muandula

Lucio Andrice Muandula (born October 9, 1959 in Maputo , Mozambique ) is a Mozambican clergyman and has been a Roman Catholic bishop of Xai-Xai since June 2004 .

Life

Lucio Andrice Muandula received the sacrament of ordination for the Archdiocese of Maputo on May 14, 1989 . Then he was parish vicar , secretary and chancellor of the archdiocese (1989/91); Professor of Moral Theology at the major seminar “St. Augustine "(1991/92). He then studied at the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome , where he obtained a licentiate , and at the Pontifical Gregorian University , where he received his doctorate in Biblical Theology (1992/2003). Since July 2003 he was cathedral pastor in Maputo and professor at the interdiocesan theologate "Pius X."

On June 24, 2004, Pope John Paul II appointed him Bishop of Xai-Xai. He was ordained as a bishop on October 24th of the same year by the retired Archbishop of Maputo, Cardinal Alexandre José Maria dos Santos OFM , who had also ordained him a priest. Co- consecrators were the Archbishop of Maputo, Francisco Chimoio OFMCap , and his predecessor Júlio Duarte Langa . The inauguration in the diocese of Xai-Xai took place on November 7, 2004.
