Lucky Sherpa

Lucky Sherpa ( nepālī : लक्की शेर्पा ) belongs to the Sherpa ethnic group and is a Nepalese diplomat and politician ( CPN-MC ). She is the first indigenous woman to be appointed ambassador by the Nepalese government and to achieve Politburo status in Nepal .

Life

Lucky Sherpa was the first graduate of the Sherpa community, a Master Accounts in economics earned and 2001, the best student of the faculty on campus Patan of Tribhuvan University . She has participated in numerous international programs offered by ILO , UNDP, and the Karuna Center for Peacebuilding (KCP). Lucky was honored as a “Young Women Human Rights Leader” and in 2007 as a “Youth Ambassador for Peace”.

After the proclamation of the republic in spring 2008, Lucky Sherpa was a member of the Constituent National Assembly and a member of parliament until 2012. She was the first woman in the Sherpa community to achieve Politburo status (at the Maoist Center CPN-MC). During her time as a MP, Lucky was a member of the Committee on International Relations and Human Rights. She headed GLOBE Nepal , the parliamentary network for the environment, and was a member of the governing body of the Climate Vulnerable Forum .

Lucky Sherpa was established in May 2017 Bidhya Devi Bhandari for ambassador in Australia appointed. On November 21, 2017, Lucky Sherpa was accredited as a non-resident ambassador to New Zealand after unconfirmed allegations of her former driver over human trafficking , Lucky resigned from her position on February 1, 2019, announcing that she had waived her diplomatic immunity.

Lucky Sherpa is married to Ngwang Sonam Sherpa and has two sons. Permanent residence is the Sankhuwasabha district (as of 2017).
