Ludwig Ehrhart (born March 22, 1990 ) is a former French biathlete .

Ludwig Ehrhart lives in Pertuis . He contested his first international races in 2007 as part of the junior races of the IBU Cup . His first major international event was the 2008 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Ruhpolding , where the Frenchman first won the bronze medal in the sprint behind Uladsimir Aljanischka and his teammate Rémi Borgeot . In the pursuit race based on it, as well as in the individual, he won the title. In the relay race he was fifth with Martin Fourcade , Borgeot and Jean-Guillaume Béatrix . In the further course of the year he took part in the roller ski junior races of the Summer Biathlon World Championships 2008 in Haute-Maurienne and finished 27th in the sprint and 12th in the pursuit. Ehrhart was also successful at the 2009 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Canmore . He won again the title in the individual and with Florent Claude and Clement Jaquelin in the relay race. In the sprint race he only reached 16th place, then improved in the pursuit race to second place behind Erlend Bjøntegaard . He also won a silver medal at the 2010 Biathlon Junior World Championships in Torsby alongside Rémi Borgeot, Mathieu Souchal and Yann Guigonnet . At this Junior World Championship he no longer started as before with the youth, but for the first time in the juniors, which can be seen in the other placements, 12 in the individual, 27 in the sprint and 29 in the pursuit race. The 2011 competitions in Nové Město na Moravě went much better . Ehrhart finished eighth in the individual, won the bronze medal in the sprint behind Tom Barth and Johannes Kühn and silver in the pursuit behind Kühn and ahead of Barth. With Florent Claude, Baptiste Jouty and Simon Desthieux , he finished fifth in the relay.

Ehrhart has been competing in the men's IBU Cup since the 2009/10 season . In his first outing in an individual in Ridnaun , he finished in the points as 40th. In 2011 he achieved single- digit placements as seventh in the individual, eighth in the sprint and sixth in the pursuit race in Annecy . Also in 2011 , the Frenchman made his debut in the Biathlon World Cup in Oberhof and finished 86th in a sprint race. It is also his best finish in the racing series to date. The first major event was the 2011 European Biathlon Championships in Ridnaun. Ehrhart did not finish the individual after six mistakes in the first two shooting bouts, then finished 17th in the sprint and ninth in the pursuit. In the relay race he was sixth with Béatrix, Claude and Borgeot.

In the spring of 2012 Ehrhart surprisingly announced his retirement from competitive sports in order to devote himself to his studies.
