Ludwig Enneccerus

Ludwig Enneccerus [ ˈluːtvɪk ɛnɛkˈtseːrʊs ], full name Karl Martin Ludwig Enneccerus (born April 1, 1843 in Neustadt am Rübenberge ; † May 31, 1928 in Marburg ), was a German legal scholar. As a National Liberal MP, he sat in the Reichstag.

Life

Enneccerus attended high school in Hanover until Easter 1860. After graduation, he went to Italy, where he joined the volunteer corps of Garibaldi joined. He studied law at the Georg-August-Universität Göttingen and became active in the Corps Hildeso-Guestphalia Göttingen in 1861 . Enneccerus was promoted to Dr. iur. PhD . In 1872 he was appointed Professor of Law in Göttingen. From 1873 he taught at the Philipps University in Marburg . For the academic year 1881/82 he was elected rector . His main focus was Roman law . After the turn of the century , civil law was also added. Enneccerus was Friedrich Althoff's confidante for over 25 years .

politics

In addition to his scientific work, Enneccerus was also politically active. He was a heavily on the experience of the Empire embossed National Liberal politician. From 1882 to 1898 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives as a member of the constituency of Kassel 3 administrative district (Stadtkreis Kassel) and appeared there as an active member of parliament. From 1887 to 1890 and from 1893 to 1898 he was also a member of the Reichstag as a member of the constituency of the Grand Duchy of Oldenburg 1 (Oldenburg - Principality of Lübeck - Birkenfeld) . In the Reichstag in 1896 he was significantly involved in the final legislative process for the German Civil Code (BGB).

He wrote one of the most famous textbooks on the Civil Code, the "Enneccerus / Nipperdey" later continued by Hans Carl Nipperdey . He also wrote about court law for Hesse.
