Ludwig Rupertus

Ludwig Rupertus (born November 3, 1911 in Landstuhl ; † November 28, 1991 there ) was a German politician ( CDU ).

Life

After attending primary school, Rupertus completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter, which he completed in 1929 with the journeyman's examination. He then worked as a carpenter in various companies, went hiking in 1932 and was then temporarily unemployed. From 1940 he took part in the Second World War as a soldier . He was most recently taken prisoner, from which he returned in 1945. In 1946 he got a job as a warehouse manager at the city of Landstuhl.

Rupertus helped found the CDU in Landstuhl in 1945 and was also a member of the Junge Union . He was chairman of the JU Landstuhl from 1947 to 1951 and was elected chairman of the local CDU branch there in 1951. From 1954 to 1964 he was chairman of the CDU district association Kaiserslautern-Land.

Initially, Rupertus was involved in local politics . From 1946 to 1956 he was a member of the Landstuhl City Council and from 1952 to 1956 a member of the district council of the Kaiserslautern district , of which he was also a member in 1956. From 1952 to 1956 he was a member of the Palatinate District Assembly . In the state elections in 1955 , 1959 , 1963 and 1967 , he was elected to the state parliament of Rhineland-Palatinate , to which he belonged until 1971, via the CDU state list . In Parliament he was a member of the Committee on Social Policy and Issues relating to Displaced Persons from 1955 to 1967 and a member of the Social Policy Committee from 1967 to 1971.
