Luigi Mino Poggi (born March 11, 1906 in Genoa , † April 19, 1972 ibid) was an Italian sailor .

successes

Luigi Poggi, who for the Yacht Club Italiano sailed, was in 1936 at the Olympic Games in Berlin in the 8-meter class Olympic champion . He was a crew member of the Italia under skipper Giovanni Reggio , which won one of the seven races and with 55 points the regatta taking place in the Olympic harbor Düsternbrook in Kiel just ahead of the Silja from Norway and the Germania III from the German Reich with 53 points each. In addition to Poggi, the crew also included Luigi De Manincor , Domenico Mordini , Bruno Bianchi and his brother Enrico Poggi . At the 1948 Olympic Games in London , Poggi started in the 6-meter class. With the Ciocca II , as a crew member under Giovanni Reggio, the regatta finished in eighth place.
