Luigi Tomasini
Luigi Tomasini (born June 22, 1741 in Pesaro , † April 25, 1808 in Eisenstadt ) was an Italian violinist and composer at the court of Prince Esterházy .
Life
Tomasini came from the Italian violin tradition from the Tartini environment and received his training in Venice . At the age of 16 he was accepted into the court orchestra of Prince Paul II Anton Prince Esterházy . When Joseph Haydn became Esterházy's conductor in 1761 , Tomasini was already one of the first violinists. Haydn composed a. a. the solos in his symphonies No. 6 Le matin , No. 7 Le midi and No. 8 Le soir for his friend Tomasini, who has now become concertmaster , as well as at least two violin concertos. In 1802 Tomasini became director of the Princely Chamber Music .
His son Alois Tomasini (1779–1858) was trained by Haydn, he was later concertmaster at the court theater in Neustrelitz , another son, Anton Tomasini (1775–1824), stayed like his father in the princely chapel.
