Luis Barbat , full name Luis Alberto Barbat Hudema , (born June 17, 1968 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) is a former Uruguayan football player .
Player career
society
At the beginning of his career, the goalkeeper played in 1985 for Club Atlético Progreso and from 1986 to 1988 for the Argentine club Estudiantes de La Plata (without use from 1987 to 1988) and then via a stopover at Liverpool Montevideo (1989-1992), for the he scored seven goals in 1991, on February 27, 1993 to Independiente Medellín (1993-1994: 98 games, one goal) to move. This transfer was a loan deal between Liverpool Montevideo and América de Cali , which in turn gave the player to Independiente Medellín on loan. In 1995 he joined the top Chilean club Colo-Colo . This was followed by positions at the Colombian clubs Deportes Tolima (1995-1996 and 1998-1999) and again Independiente Medellín (1996-1997). His most successful time was with América de Cali. He has been a member of this club since 2000 and there he was involved in winning the Colombian championships in 2000 and 2001, as well as winning the Apertura in 2002, before finally returning to Uruguay in 2003. Here he was a year later with his club Danubio , to which he belonged until the Apertura 2005, Uruguayan national champion. With the Montevideans he was used in at least 54 first division games (2004: 34 games; 2005: 13; 2005/06: 7). He also played six games in the 2005 Copa Libertadores . In the Torneo Clausura and the Torneo Apertura of 2006 he was in the ranks of Central Español . In these two half-series of the season he has 16 and 15 appearances in the Primera División . At the beginning of 2007 he moved to Colombia again for a season to Atlético Bucaramanga (29 games). He then let his career at home with Juventud (2008, 10 missions in the Clausura of the 2007/08 season), Progreso (2008-2009) and Boston River (2009) end. According to his own statement, however, he ended his career at Progreso in 2009.
National team
Barbat was already a member of Uruguay's junior team in the junior division. He was a member of the Uruguayan national football team and completed a total of ten international matches from April 30, 1992 to July 24, 2004, in which he conceded 13 goals. At the Copa America in 1991 and at the same tournament in 2004 , he was each in the Uruguayan squad.

Coaching career
After finishing his active career, Barbat worked for around two years as the goalkeeping coach of the Uruguayan U17 national team and looked after them in this role at the U-17 South American Championship in Ecuador in March 2011 together with head coach Fabián Coito and assistant coach Gustavo Ferreira . After winning the vice world championship with the U-17 Uruguayans, this activity ended in June 2011. A little later he became assistant coach of the Uruguayan first division club Liverpool . He also held this position in 2012. According to another source, Barbat, who was part of the coaching team of the junior national teams in his home country in 2010 and 2011, is also a member of the Uruguayan national team's coaching staff in 2012 and is responsible for training the youth goalkeepers. He has been the coach of Isef de Montevideo since at least February 2015.
