Lukáš Daněk (born September 19, 1997 ) is a Czech Nordic combined skier who starts for the ASO Dukla Liberec club .

Career

Daněk made his international debut at the Alpine Cup in Liberec on September 4, 2010 at the age of twelve . He did not contest his next international competitions until three and a half years later at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2014 in Val di Fiemme . Similar to a year later at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2015 in Almaty , Daněk only finished in the lower ranks. On February 14, 2015, he made his debut in the Continental Cup in Ramsau , but only scored his first points around eleven months later in Høydalsmo . During the rest of the season, Daněk was able to win Continental Cup points again and again and was also in good form at the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships in 2016 in Râșnov . In fourth place, he narrowly missed the medal ranks both in the sprint and with the team. At the end of the season he was appointed to the World Cup team for the first time . First he finished eighth with the relay in Schonach before making his debut in an individual competition in 43rd place.

In the winter of 2016/17 Daněk tried again and again unsuccessfully in the World Cup , but achieved good placements in his appearances in the Continental Cup . At the Nordic Junior World Ski Championships 2017 in Park City , he again narrowly missed the podium in the Gundersen singles as fourth, which he, however , reached in the team competition in third together with Ondřej Pažout , David Zemek and Jan Vytrval . A few weeks later, he started at the Nordic World Ski Championships 2017 in Lahti , but only finished in the bottom of the individual competitions.

In February 2018 Daněk participated in the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang . Together with Tomáš Portyk , Ondřej Pažout and Miroslav Dvořák , he finished seventh in the team competition. At the end of November 2018, the Czech team around Vytrval, Portyk, Daněk and Pažout finished fifth at the World Cup kick-off in Ruka . At the Nordic World Ski Championships 2019 in Seefeld , he finished 35th and 39th in the individual competitions and ninth with the team.
