Lukas Dettwiler

Lukas Dettwiler (born November 25, 1954 in Basel ; legal resident in Basel and Bretzwil ) is a Swiss translator and archivist .

Life

Dettwiler studied Nordic Philology at the Universities of Zurich and Uppsala and graduated from Zurich in 1986 with a licentiate . Until 2002 he worked in the archive of the Swiss radio DRS . He has been an archivist at the Swiss Literature Archive (SLA) since 2003 . He looks after the Einstein archive and the Hesse archive, as well as the bequests of Kurt Marti , Karl Stauffer-Bern and Jörg Steiner . In the SLA, he is responsible for the IMVOCS (Images et voix de la culture suisse) project, which includes video and film documents related to Swiss literature.

In 2000 he was awarded by the Robert Walser Society in an interpretation competition for a prose piece by Robert Walser . In the same year he received the Swedish Authors' Fund Award from the Sveriges Författarfond .

Dettwiler has translated works by Swedish writers into German, including Bengt Emil Johnson , Göran Tunström , Jesper Svenbro and Gunnar D. Hansson .
