Lukas Hasler

Lukas Hasler (born March 15, 1996 in Rottenmann ) is an Austrian concert organist , composer , choir director and arranger of organ transcriptions.

Career

Hasler first grew up in Kraubath an der Mur and then moved with his parents at elementary school age to Gaishorn am See in Upper Styria . As a young piano student he was interested in the organ and so it happened that at the age of ten he accompanied the masses in his home parish on the organ. Two years later another parish was added, where he not only worked as an organist, but also led the church choir at the age of 14.

During his school days in the Admont Abbey High School , Hasler received a broad musical education. He took saxophone lessons, performed with the school's big band and gained conducting skills through his participation in the school choir. At the age of 16, his musical training took him to the organ preparatory class at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz .

After graduating from high school, Lukas Hasler began studying the organ concert subject at the Graz University of Art and graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in June 2019. In addition, he took part in several master classes, among others with Jean Guillou , Ton Koopman , Ludger Lohmann and Skip Sempé. Parallel to his studies in Graz, he studied culture and media management at the University of Hamburg and in the meantime lived in New York , where he completed an internship at the Austrian Cultural Forum (ACF) . In 2019 he completed this course with a master’s degree.

Hasler lives in Graz .

Act

Hasler gives between 30 to 40 concerts a year, he also directs the “PaltenKlang Choir” in his home region and is the representative organist in the second cathedral church in Lyon . He has over 35,000 followers on social media channels.

In 2017 he published the book "Chances, Risks and Goals of Online Fundraising Using the Example of AIMS: American Musicians on a Journey to Europe".

In 2019 he won the "Grand Prix" at the International Organ Competition in Malta . In the summer of 2019 he released his first solo CD “A Portrait” with his own improvisations and organ works by Johann Sebastian Bach , Franz Liszt and Marcel Dupré . In May 2020 he also released his new single "From Austria with Love".

Concert activity

Lukas Hasler appeared at the opening party of the Salzburg Festival , at the Tyrolean Festival Erl , at the Organ Summer at the St. Florian Bruckner Organ, at the Düsseldorf International Organ Festival and at the Russian Music Festival of the Volgograd Philharmonic .

He has given international concerts in Germany, France, Italy, Great Britain, Russia, Israel and the United States - mainly in cathedrals and concert halls.
